Dr. Ericka V. Hylick

meet

Dr. Ericka V. Hylick, is a native of Albany, GA and currently practices as a registered pharmacist in the pharmaceutical industry space. She holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Fort Valley State University (2003), a diploma in Pharmacy Technology from Albany Technical College (2007), and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (2011), all of which carried graduation with honors. 
 

Postgraduation, Dr. Hylick matriculated through pharmaceutical residency and fellowship training at Howard University Hospital (2012), Eli Lilly and Company Visiting Scientist Fellowship Program (2013) and Children’s National Health System (2014) before entering full time clinical practice. Her career reach extends into many areas of the profession including, but not limited to, inpatient and community settings, academia, specialty pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry. Ericka’s passion resides in narrowing the gap for minorities to enter and attain success in the field of pharmacy by demystifying the process and providing guidance to those seeking direction. 
 

At present, Dr. Hylick resides in the Atlanta, GA, area with her incredible daughter, Savannah Grace. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her loved ones.

Dr. Alsean Bryant

Dr. Alsean Bryant is a pharmacist. Yet, through rediscovery, he has tapped into his creative passions and coined the term “PharmArtist.” Enraptured by his passion to help and empower others and love of the entertainment arts, this Soulstar is embracing every dimension of himself to bring his dreams to life. 

As a pharmacist in the nonprofit sector, Dr. Bryant works with a healthcare team who provides quality health and advocacy services to HIV clients "regardless of their ability to pay." As an artist, he is a singer/songwriter who writes music for himself, others, and film; he has served as a member of the Washington Football Team Marching Band Drumline for five years, and he currently serves as Creative Genius for Artbae, a grassroots movement consisting of creative individuals who put their art “Before Anything Else.”Dr. Bryant believes that we were all created to create and is using his skills and gifts to impact the world through health empowerment and creative expression because he believes both are essential to our well-being. Dr. Jamika Hallman-Cooper is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at Emory University School of Medicine and a Pediatric Neurologist at Emory-Children’s Pediatric Institute. She is a native of Augusta, GA. She was a Presidential Scholar and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, GA in 2000.  She went on to attend the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (Rochester, NY) for medical school and graduated in 2005. She completed Pediatric Neurology Residency at Washington University in St. Louis from 2005-2010. She then completed additional training in the subspecialty area of cerebral palsy at Washington University and has worked closely with the cerebral palsy population since joining Emory/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in 2011. 
She serves on the Admissions Committee for Emory University School of Medicine and is the Program Director for Emory’s Pediatric Neurology Residency Program. She is a member of the Child Neurology Society, American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Cerebral Palsy, and the Association of Pediatric Program Directors. She additionally is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is married to Dr. Roderick Cooper, DDS, and they have one son. Dr. Roderick Cooper

Dr. Roderick S. Cooper, owner and operator of Bella Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, is the seed of hard workers, educators and is noted as the “Son of the South.” Originally from Pearson, GA., Dr. Cooper is a 2000 graduate from Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and he is a 2004 graduate from Howard University College of Dentistry with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. Roderick later served in the United States Public Health Services as a 2nd Lieutenant. Now, he is serving the general population in Tucker, Georgia as a General Cosmetic Dentist. Dr. Michael C. Bandy currently serves as the Site Manager for Pharmacy Services at OhioHealth Berger Hospital in Circleville, OH where he oversees the operational, clinical, regulatory, and financial functions of the department. He obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Florida A&M University, and he is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he obtained his Master’s of Science degree in Health-Systems Pharmacy Administration. He completed his HSPA residency at Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, OH.
Throughout his career, Michael has served in many professional organizations and has served as a mentor and preceptor for many student pharmacists and pharmacy residents. His professional interests include leadership/professional development, business/healthcare finance, policy & regulations, and strategic and operational management. In addition to his work at OhioHealth Berger Hospital, Michael is actively involved in his church, Rhema Christian Center, where he serves on the Board of Directors. Dr. Brittny James

Dr. Brittny James is Chair of Health Sciences at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Ga. She has a background in public health research and practice with a focus on using intersectionality, critical race theory, and the life course perspective as frameworks for understanding the interdependence of systems of inequality and implications for social science and policy and practice. Dr. James has been recognized for her innovations in teaching methods and research designs targeting underrepresented populations.
   She attended both Fisk University and the University of Nevada Las Vegas where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master’s of Education degree in Health Promotion, respectively. She has a DrPH in Behavior Sciences and Health Education from the Florida A&M University Institute of Public Health where she also obtained credentialing as a Certified Health Education Specialist. Dr. Chandler David Schexnayder is a 2017 graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana's Doctor of Pharmacy program. Dr. Schexnayder's honors upon graduation included Summa Cum Laude, Bowl of Hygeia Award (highest pharmacy honor), and the St. Katharine Drexel Award (highest Xavier honor). 
Dr. Schexnayder completed his PGY-1 Pharmacy and PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residencies at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Currently, Chandler is a Home-Based Primary Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the same institution. 
Dr. Schexnayder also serves as the Director of the Ambassadors Program for Pharmacy Initiative Leaders, Inc. (PILs), a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of underrepresented populations in pharmacy and healthcare. Chandler's words to live by are Evaluate, Attack, Triumph - E.A.T. Dr. Gerald “Trey” Kilpatrick

Dr. Gerald “Trey” Kilpatrick is originally from Tampa FL, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Florida A&M University Tallahassee, FL. He then went on to receive his Doctorate in Chiropractic in 2016 from Life University in Marietta, GA. 
Dr. Kilpatrick prides himself on giving quality care over quantity care. He takes the time to listen to his patients versus assuming how they might feel. Being well rounded in his knowledge of wellness and medicine has helped him to excel in his specialties of treating migraines and sinuses as well as whole body extremities. When he isn't working, Dr. Kilpatrick enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, traveling and meeting new people.
