Dr. Jamika Hallman-Cooper is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at Emory University School of Medicine and a Pediatric Neurologist at Emory-Children’s Pediatric Institute. She is a native of Augusta, GA. She was a Presidential Scholar and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, GA in 2000.  She went on to attend the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry (Rochester, NY) for medical school and graduated in 2005. She completed Pediatric Neurology Residency at Washington University in St. Louis from 2005-2010. She then completed additional training in the subspecialty area of cerebral palsy at Washington University and has worked closely with the cerebral palsy population since joining Emory/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in 2011. 
She serves on the Admissions Committee for Emory University School of Medicine and is the Program Director for Emory’s Pediatric Neurology Residency Program. She is a member of the Child Neurology Society, American Academy of Neurology, American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Cerebral Palsy, and the Association of Pediatric Program Directors. She additionally is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. She is married to Dr. Roderick Cooper, DDS, and they have one son.
